Job Seekers Allowance Claimant Count Duration - 6 Months+

The proportion of Job Seekers Allowance claimants that have been out of work for over six months in Devon remain below the national rate despite increasing dramatically over the recessionary period. During a recession it is not unusual for the length of time people are unemployed to increase as there are fewer new job opportunities and greater competition for each vacancy.
