Survival of Newly Born Enterprises

The proportion of enterprises that are still trading one year after starting up – first year survival rate – can be an indicator of the resilience of a particular area. First year survival rates of newly born enterprises in Devon are similar to the national average. Survival rates in 2008 were lowest in Exeter and Torridge and highest in West Devon.
